Glad you asked. In short, it's a signal-to-noise thing. I know that most site owners encouraging contact use web forms for the sake of visitor convenience. If I ever get desperate, you bet your ass I'll have one too...
...But for the time being I've got enough work to keep me in Wranglers and Ramen (knock on wood). I'd rather scare up fewer, higher-quality leads from people who take a moment to fire off an email or (gasp!) give me a buzz.
